Description

Benefit paid to a person who is self-employed or employed and who is confined or expected to be confined.

Eligibility

•  The person must be in employment as a self-employed or employed person on the day immediately preceding the beginning of the period for which she is claiming the benefit.

•  The person is not carrying out any business during the period in which she is confined.

  The employed person receives the full income from the employer, after which the employer claims for reimbursement of the maternity benefit
